My Vinyl - post 3 Motorhead

Motorhead is one of the more extensive, completest, but nowhere near complete collections I have from a band. There are only a few bands with this amount of real estate on my shelves, the rest I'm afraid yer gonna have to wait for....

L.P.'s & 12" E.P.'s

"Motorhead" s/t L.P. White print on black gate-fold cover. Chiswick Records - Side 1 - 1."Motorhead" 2."Vibrator" 3."Lost Johnny" 4."Iron Horse/Born To Lose" Side 2 - 1."White Line Fever" 2."Keepers On The Road" 3."The Watcher" 4."Train Kept A Rollin'" Produced by Speedy Keen.  (Chiswick 940-550) England, 1977. "A Bunch of Stiffs" - Stiff Records compilation, Motorhead's "White Line Fever" is included, along with one of the bands earlier press pieces via the inner sleeve. And an awesome band photo. (G+)

In 1980, following the success of "Overkill", and upon seeing the band begin to rise, the all-mighty record companies who'd shunned and dismissed the band, brought into play one of the most over-issued, un-licensed albums the band would see. Recordings that were made in 1976, with the original line-up of Lemmy, Larry Wallis - guitar, and Lucas Fox - drums. (1 song, "Lost Johnny") and held hostage for nearly four years, by executives, thus the re-recordeing with Speedy Keen in 1977.

"On Parole" - L.P. Liberty Records , Fame/EMI (FA3009) England, 1980.* (G)

 "On Parole" L.P. Liberty/EMI America (LN10340) U.S.A. 1980.* (G)

 * both of these releases date as 1976, that is, in fact when the tracks were recorded, however this is mis-leading as these albums weren't released until 1980.

 "Ace Of Spades" L.P. Mercury/Bronze Records (SRM-1-4011) U.S.A. 1980.(G)

  "Ace Of Spades" L.P. Castle Communications - re-issue / Red vinyl - England 2000.(M-)

"The Complete Motorhead Kit" Promo 5 song 12" E.P. promoting "Iron Fist" Side A:  1."The Ace Of Spades" 2."Motorhead" (live) Side B: 1."Iron Fist" 2."Too Late, Too Late" 3."Remember Me, I'm Gone" Mercury/Bronze (KIT 1) Canada 1981 Cover folds out into a poster, came with a 24 page booklet, Embroidered sew-on logo patch, and a 24" X 36" poster.
Sadly, my copy only has the cover, the record, and the sleeve. All the other goodies we're gone when I purchased this on tour. If anyone wants to let theirs go, I know a guy..... (G)

This is what the complete kit looks like.
"Iron Fist" L.P. Earmark/Get Back 180 gram re-issue w/gate-fold. Sanctuary (41017) Italy 2003. (M-)

"Iron Fist" Picture disc L.P. Earmark/Get Back (41017 P) 2003.(M-)

Iron Fist was one of the first Motorhead albums I've ever owned. And to this day, holds the sounds of what I remember most about the days of my introduction to the Motorhead legacy. It's raw, underproduced (by the band, their first attempt no doubt!) and has that grit I've always associated with the band.

"Beer Drinkers" L.P. Basically a repackaging of the Speedy Keen Recordings with a cool alternate cover from Spain. Big Beat/Milan Records (A 120 174) Spain 1982. A picture disc of this release is out there, I have not... (VG++)

"Another Perfect Day" Get Back/Abraxas Records. Italy 2004.

"One Track Mind" b/w "Rock It" & "I've Got Mine" promotional 12" E.P. Mercury/Bronze (MK 246) Label states "Promotional, not for sale." (VG-)

1983 also brings us the second most over issued (without the bands permission, and without royalty...) group of recordings that will never go away as long as someone's tryin' to make a buck. It's a show recorded live at The Roundhouse, 18th February, 1978 when the band appeared as "Iron Fist & The Hordes From Hell" But most people know this as:

"What's Words Worth?" or "Live 1978" Big Beat Records - (Big Beat WIKM 49) England 1983. (G)

"What's Word's Worth?" L.P. Astan Records - (LP 20041) Germany 1983. (G)

"Heavy Meatal Vol.1" 3XL.P. Box set. Containing Judas Priest - "Sad Wings Of Destiny", Black Sabbath - "Paranoid", and the "Live 1978" Roundhouse recordings.
The Priest and Sabbath L.P.'s are issued on Victoria from what appears to be Spain, while the Motorhead disc is issued on Astan and printed in Germany. (VG+)

This box cracks me up with a picture of a nortic looking white guy complete with loin cloth Wielding a sword.

Happy Birthday baby Jesus, hope you like crap...
on to awesome.

"No Remorse" 2XL.P. Bronze/Island. (7 90233-1-H) U.S.A. 1984.

Here's a couple more "not-very-liscensed" releases but HEY!, I gotta' get it right?!

"Anthology" 2XL.P compilation on Castle communications. (RAWLP011) France 1985.

Pretty decent mix of tunes that are by 1985, flooding the market in way too many forms. (Just wait until the 2000's!!!) Gate-fold cover was the first time I saw Lemmy in a white suit & black tie... (VG)
